What is the best company for Maternity Health insurance?
I’m not looking to go on medicaid, I don’t want to use taxpayers money if I can afford a reasonable individual health insurance plan. I am very early on in pregnancy and would like to know if anyone knows of a good plan with reasonable rates. I would appreciate it if you had details (plan names). We can afford a deductible of around $4000 or less.

I am looking into individual health insurance. Im using a major insurance company so I dont get screwed. Can you help me decode what all this means? and if what I’m paying is worth it? My rate is 162.46 a month. I dont know what deductable means and what these percentages mean! also what does no deductable mean? My plan is the standard option in the right hand column..THANK YOU!

Individual health insurance for a couple with one healthy teen–high-deductible or low-deductible?
I quit my job and I can continue with a decent health insurance plan for my family under COBRA, or I can switch to an individual plan. Being over 50, my wife is supposed to have over $500 of routine tests in a year, otherwise she’s pretty healthy. My son and I are in pretty good health. Any payments we make would be deducted from my wife’s salary before taxes. Our marginal income tax rate, including state tax, is about 19%. Would we be better off with low deductible and high premiums or the reverse? The COBRA plan is fairly low deductible and high premiums.
Question got messed up, should say, “is high-deductible or low-deductible better?”
Thanks,
Houyhnhnm
My reply to Insuranceguytx–yes I can pay $5,000 out-of-pocket for major problems. If I can recoup it in a reasonable period with lower premiums, I’d take that chance.

Can 3 adults be covered under one family health insurance plan?
My husband is ordered by divorce decree to cover his ex-wife and son for health insurance. He is now married to me and we have a son. Up to 3 weeks ago when I lost my job, I just carried my own individual health insurance through my company. I think I should be on his family plan now and not her. Does anyone know if the ex-wife can be carried on the same plan and my husband and me and our kids as a dependent?

How come part-time employees don’t qualify for employer’s group health insurance plans?
So they have to pay higher rates under individual plans, even though they make less, cause they’re only part time. Is it any wonder why so many Americans do not have health insurance?
