My fathers health insurance through GM is going to be cancelled in Jan of 2009 and now we are in the process of trying to find another plan to go with his Medicare plan, is there anyone out there that has a suggestion for him?

I am turning 22 on JUNE 25 and will lose my health insurance through my dad. I am still in college and do not have a job. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced insurance plan? I hope to only need it for about 1 year, because graduate in December 08

I’m looking at full coverage and/or emergency only health plans. thanks!

My employer does not provide health insurance. After extensive research, my wife and I found a suitable policy for ourselves that provided sufficient insurance coverage without breaking the bank. The major downside I see is that we are paying for the coverage with post tax money – yes our premium goes toward our itemized deductions, but that is no where near comparable to paying with pre-tax money. Am I wrong about this? Is there a better way to approach this?
It just doesn’t seem right that I am punished merely because my employer is a small business, not able to participate in a group insurance plan.

This is probably a weird place to ask this, but having trouble finding an answer online. I have individual health insurance, and my plan will not cover a pregnancy if conception occurs before 6 months after I add the maternity coverage. I am not currently pregnant, however I would like to begin trying before 6 months from now. Does anyone know of a health care plan that you can add maternity coverage to, and not have a waiting period for conception? For instance, if I opted for extra coverage in October and became pregnant in Dec., could I be covered?

That’s not socialized medicine, and it’s not a tax increase. It’s a large group insurance plan that catches people who have fallen in the cracks. It even incorporates free will and autonomy…wonderful things for a free country!

I am 20 years old and on my step-father’s insurance plan. However, he seems to change jobs every 6 months so I CONSTANTLY either a) have no current insurance, or b) am in a waiting period so I cannot receive services.

I know nothing about insurance but would it be reasonable for me to get on an individual plan for myself? Although that’s not what I would like to do ideally, I’m sick of not being able to go to the doctor or get yearly dental cleanings. I also need to go to an Orthodontist which I know often isn’t covered by insurance, but I could deal with that when the time comes.

I’m a student and I don’t have a job with benefits so what exactly would be the best option to look into?
