individual health insurance plans
preciosa asked:

I am 24, so I am too old to be on my mom’s health insurance plan, but I am also a graduate student, so I don’t have a full-time job, so I can’t get insurance through my job. I recently found a plan for about $180 a month and a $500 deductible, $20 copay for doctor visits, etc. Does this sound like a reasonable deal? It seems expensive to me, but I know that individual health insurance is through the roof these days.

For about right to me im 43 and have 17 year old son pay 632 per month for someone your age the same deal youve got.
For health insurance is based on age the individual situation doesnt make too much difference 180 sounds about right to me im 43 and have 17 year.

Insurance premium is based in part on what zip code you live in. I will say that the most reasonably priced plan has a $2500 deductible in Florida. The amount of the copay isn’t really an issue. It is too small of an amount to concern yourself. Check with United Healthcare, Humana etc. Also check on campus. Check around for a local HMO.
