schp asked:
A family member of mine was recently diagnosed with a serious and potentially fatal illness while visiting us in the US. He has no health insurance, and the surgery and treatment in US (which we prefer) will cost up to US$40K/year. I would appreciate very much any advice on whether he can still somehow obtain individual/family health insurance at this point, if so, how and what type should he get (PPO, POS, HMO, EPO, etc.)?
I myself am unfamiliar with health insurance plans so any help is much appreciated. Thank you very much for your help.

No. Insurance needs to be purchased before it’s needed not after — otherwise it wouldn’t work because nobody would have it.
Ameriplan USA is a discount program. Its not insurance but it will help in some way. You can get basic health for $29.95 a month. You can visit this website
The whole picture of origin for treatment or pay cash for treatment or pay cash for it here.
